The National Innovation and Startup Festival (TECHFEST) 2024 is poised to be a pivotal event, promoting Vietnam's innovative startup movement.

The Ministry of Science and Technology will host TECHFEST Viet Nam 2024 from November 26-28 in the northern city of Hai Phong under the theme "Joining hands to develop Vietnam's innovative startup ecosystem," aiming to introduce and honour outstanding achievements in startup innovation.

The three-day event will feature multiple activities including the TECHFEST 2024 opening ceremony, high-level policy dialogue forum, and an innovative startup product and service exhibition.

The event will also drive the attraction of technology startups, technology personnel, investment funds, and domestic and international experts. It will introduce Hai Phong as a pioneer in innovative entrepreneurship, creating a friendly and favourable environment to support the formation and development of high-growth enterprises based on intellectual property, technology, and innovative business models.

After nine years of organisation, TECHFEST Viet Nam has become a crucial event attracting interest from policymaking agencies, managers, corporations, businesses, startup support organisations, and domestic and international investment funds.

TECHFEST also offers a critical networking arena for domestic and international businesses and startups to forge strategic partnerships, drive ecosystem development, and uncover investment opportunities across Vietnam's dynamic innovation landscape.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh spoke at the conference.

Speaking at the press conference on November 21, Hoang Minh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology emphasised that with close government guidance, support from ministries, localities, social organisations, and the startup community's efforts, Vietnam's startup ecosystem has developed strongly, creating a new generation of businesses.

In 2024, Vietnam's startup ecosystem ranks 56th in the Startup Blink Global Startup Ecosystem Index, with Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City entering the top 200 global startup cities.

Since 2017, Vietnam's Global Innovation Index (GII) has continuously improved, rising from 59th place in 2016 to 44th in 2024. The 2024 GII results show Viet Nam leading in three global indicators, notably with its first-ever top ranking in Creative Goods Exports.
